I did a lot of shopping on my Christmas. The shops were packed! Tokyo does good business in the holiday season.
I also got some gifts and such for my trip home. I bought so much that my arms were a bit sore the next day. Maybe I shouldn't have bought so many gifts, but I thought they were nice and would be useful.
Ah well. I really need to stop stockpiling gifts for friends. I have some stuff I've been hanging on to for a year now; I should just bring it all home and give out to people.
After the hauling, I tried two types of ramen at New Tokyo Ramen Champion. Man that place is out of the way. The ramen was interesting but not spectacular, so I don't know if I'll check out stages 2 and 3. They rotate out shops every month, and I tried the first month's ramen. They make it look so good on TV, but I guess that's TV for you. It's probably more fun with a group. Need to find a ramen club.
Also had cake on Christmas Eve. Lots of whipped cream! Very rich, even though it's light stuff. I miss the more buttery, moist cakes in the U.S., the sponge cake here tends to be too dry for my taste.

Haha it's never a good idea to leave the house the days before Christmas. Berlin is the same, you can hardly find a place to stand on the train, bus, etc., hahaha, but I hope you had an amazing Christmas :3
Hee, thanks for the sweet comment!
The trains weren't too bad, fortunately, but the shops were packed. The ramen place was empty though, thank goodness. I had tons of bags at that point so needed space to store it, haha.
Hope you had an amazing Christmas too!
I'm new reader and would like to know: Are you Japanese or are you -insert nationality here- who lives in Japan and if so, for how long, what do you there, etc. :D!
I'm American and I've been in Tokyo 7 years now; I work as a consultant.
I love exploring restaurants and over the years I've started dabbling in the fun cosmetics here. It's harder to indulge my fragrance habit here, so I don't pursue it as much.
I like sightseeing too, but I'm lazy about posting pictures :)
Hahaha you should definitely do post pictures though x) As you can see I'm a beauty blogger and I mainly import my stuff from Japan because Western cosmetics is..... except for the colour, not my style. So I know where you're coming from x)
That's so cool, I envy you. Living in Tokyo. AW.
Heh, I should post pictures... It is nice living in Tokyo, but it means that I have to exercise self-control in order to avoid buying everything :P
Anyway, your traditional Christmas sounds like lots of fun :)
Haha you read my blog, thank you :3
My pleasure :)
me too! Shopping is a lot of fun. I bought walking shoes, Reebok Easytone for ME as a Christmas gift. Easytone is effective to improve my legs, hips and rear. I'll walk a lot!!
Oh, I've been hearing about those shoes! Let me know how they are; I might want to get them, haha.
明けましておめでとうございます! Happy New year Kuri :)
Thanks Nic Nic! Happy New Year! あけましておめでとうございます!
