MAC Restaurant in Sasazuka

The confusingly named MAC マック  (spoken in Japanese, this can trigger an amusing Japanese variation on the Who's on First routine since McDonalds is also called Mac) is a Japanese-style Western restaurant located in the pleasant Tokyo suburb of Sasazuka 笹塚, opened by one of the chefs who worked at the original Mac in Shimokitazawa 下北沢. Sadly, the original has closed (I believe due to a fire), but this and another Mac run by the son and wife of the original owner live on, thankfully.

The original Mac was a bit grungy due to age, but this one is nicely modern and new, and the fish fry set has never failed to be fresh and moist. When I lived in the area I used to eat here once a week or more - always getting the fried fish set 魚フライセット. Hamburg steak ハンバーグ and the pork stir fry 生姜焼き are general favorites.

I don't believe the menu has English but I think it has pictures, so ordering isn't too difficult.  For Americans, the portions may be a bit small, but if you get one of the combos I think you'll be satisfied.
