Profusion Feline Lip Luster in Purr

Profusion Luxy Lips in a strong red (L) and Feline Lip Luster in PURR (r)
Pigmented and opaque, Purr is a pinky beige that will probably suit ladies with less pale lips, but personally it washes my pigmented lips out in a very unflattering, chalky manner.

It makes a pretty good concealer, probably thanks to a decent amount of white pigment.  It acts like my Shu Uemura WH 001 lipstick.  The Feline Lip Luster cream formula is pretty flat - there's not really any shine, although it isn't matte or drying.  The color visibly sinks into lines a bit, but since it isn't too emollient, as a concealer it works pretty well.

One of the more standard pinks probably would have been a better choice for a wearable color, but I prefer beiges to pinks.  I will be using this to tone down my strong lip colors, including the red Profusion Luxy Lips, which is a lot of fun.  Look for these products at the beauty bins in Walgreens - $1 plus tax is hard to beat.  I believe this product is made in China.

I'm going to start ending posts with music videos.  I'll start with my current favorite, the new song from Ameriie, "OUT LOUD":

You may remember Ameriie from when she spelled her name Amerie.

shu uemura rouge unlimited supreme shine SS WH 003

Jojoba's post on the new Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine lipstick prompted me to put some information about my older supreme shine lipstick up too.

I bought this lipstick in Taipei last summer. It's a new, super glossy lipstick line from Shu Uemura, in the old packaging.

According to a saleslady in Hankyu, this line was planned to be released in Japan last year, but they decided to revamp the packaging. 2 limited edition colors go on sale today in Japan, and the full line will be released in April.

WH 003 is basically a sheer, glossy, sparkly lipstick - good for making other lipsticks and glosses sparkly and a tad bit lighter in color. Great for evenings out. I really enjoy the texture, as it's quite light, but I find it a little rough and my lips tingle the tiniest bit when I put it on.

As you can see, the cap has already cracked in 3 places; it's a good thing they decided to revamp the packaging! It would be nice if they would replace my cap too, though.

Cosmetic Candy had the same issue with all three of her lipsticks! They should definitely give her new caps. My lipstick is tilting to the side too, as she mentioned. Hopefully the revamped version, which Jojoba has, doesn't have that problem.

As a lippy, I really like it. Just don't get the version with the flat top, stick to the new rounded cap.

my ultimate skin care set

Cosmetic Candy is holding a series of giveaways, which prompted me to think about my ideal skin care set:
1. shu uemura cleansing oil (although honestly, fancl cleansing oil/dhc deep cleansing oil are perfectly fine for me)

4. La Roche Posay Anthelios 40
5. Shiseido Haku Masks

Current favorites:
1. FANCL cleansing oil

3. Beauty Credit Double Moist Pomegranate Collagen Cream
4. Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen 50+

My favorite things...

My favorite things at the moment:
* Rohto Lycé eye wash
* Kanebo Tiffa UV lip balm - has the perfect light and emollient but not too greasy texture.
I can't wait till I use up all my other lip balms - they just don't feel as nice. I have enough for each purse/bag/backpack I own :P
* Canmake cream blush - cheap and effective. If I ever use up all my other blushes, I'll consolidate my stash with just this product. I like Majolica Majorca's blush too, but cream blush is just so easy and portable! Maybe I'll keep one pigmented blush like Bobbi Brown around.

Of my new lip products, my favorites are the Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine sparkly white lippy in SS WH - pretty sparkle. For work, Shiseido The Makeup in LC2 is really easy to use and the perfect my-lips-but-better shade.

Everything else is rather so-so and I don't plan to repurchase.
Extra Version Olive Oil does remove my makeup very well, but I end up using lots of cotton pads and it stings if it gets into my eyes, so I think the time vs. cost performance is not worth it for me.
I've been using Shiseido Eudermine toner to get any remnants of makeup off, but I'd rather not use too much alcohol on my face.
So I'll probably try Mandom Cleansing Express Cleansing Lotion (Bright Up) next.
