magazine freebies
Ugh, materialism!
These upcoming magazine freebies look so nice!
Tibi x Bobbi Brown paisley tote bag - the last thing I need is another tote (I have 3 already), but this one is so pretty.
One Piece pouch - I'm not even a One Piece fan, but the pouch is apparently good quality, hence want! I will force myself not to buy it. Instead I'll get the Dip Drops pouch/organizer.

Nov. Sweet Magazine
Fashionmag (Japanese with pictures) has good reviews for the Paul & Joe "vanity" bag and pouch included in Sweet's November issue.
I'm not a big fan of Sweet, and the Paul & Joe pattern is not exactly my taste, but according to Fashionmag the quality is really good and is recommended.
The last magazine I picked up was probably Oggi (the models are so boring! although the clothes are okay) for the Kate Spade book cover. Very nice book cover. The Anteprima mook looks quite lovely and elegant, but I really don't need another lunch box bag. Maybe I'll get it later, if it's still available. I already have bags from Tsumori Chisato, Sequoia, Paul & Joe Sister, Miffy, and Anna Sui. The Anna Sui and Sequoia bags are the nicest.

InRed - Marc Jacobs daisy pouches
I picked up the latest InRed magazine from the convenience store today. I haven't opened the magazine yet, but the pouches are quite nice. They're a faux leather material, and they're even nicely lined inside. I'm not sure how long the daisy pattern will last, but the pouches are decent for the price.

magazine extras
It's become ridiculously popular for brands to do collaborations with magazines and put out extras included with each magazine purchase.
Recently Spur magazine had a Kitson insulated green lunch bag. The bag is super cute, but it's pretty terrible quality. Fortunately, the magazine itself is pretty interesting. I hope the bag falls apart quickly so that i can throw it away, but ironically it's only the pretty green covering that is terrible quality - the insulation portion seems a bit more solid. It's going to look pretty terrible soon!
In better news, the Gelato Pique mook has a really high quality cosmetics/travel bag included. Well worth the 1500 yen or so.
Recently Sweet just went on sale with a Gelato Pique summer tote - polyester and plastic with mesh sides - perfect for the beach or the local bath house. I can't wait to use it. Sadly, Sweet itself is pretty unsuited to my tastes and I don't like a lot of the models.

sequoia e-mook
I have got to start eating breakfast.
Mary J. Blige and Christy Turlington are great.
It's really nice to see the great supermodels returning. There are tons of pretty models nowadays, but Turlington is gorgeous and interesting. I don't like Kate Moss as much, even though she does manage to be a fashion leader.
I picked up the e-mook from Sequoia this weekend. Included as a huroku/gift is a hot pink little tote bag with sturdy leather handles. I'm using it at work for my midday (lunch) excursions, as my little canvas Miffy tote (gift from Lawson by collecting stickers) is a bit grungy and could use a wash. The pink Sequoia tote is much more of a proper bag as it's even lined! For 1200 yen, you can't beat it in Japan. It's probably made in China of course, but it's cute and useful. My Chisato Mori tote has a terribly cute pattern, but it's not as nicely made so I'll use it for shopping closer to hope - easy to toss my wallet, keys and phone into totes as opposed to proper purses.
It's funny, Le Sport Sac bags are really far too marked up in Japan. Much better to buy in the U.S. as Le Sport Sac even has a sale site! Currently down for maintenance. I hope it comes back soon so I can do some holiday shopping. I'll check out Bluefly instead.

Japanese magazine Glamorous
Glamorous features Namie Amuro on the cover; it's kind of a gyaru-ish magazine targetted at women in their late twenties. This month the 750 yen magazine has a "special box" from Emilio Pucci: 3 note books and I believe a mini perfume. The magazine goes on sale today.

nov. issue of Spring, Biteki
I picked up the November issue of Spring for the JILL by Jill Stuart cosmetic pouch that is included with each purchase. At only 600 yen for the magazine, I'm quite happy with it.
The pouch itself is a smooth, light nylon. It opens easily and has a pair of handles so it's a bit more functional than most pouches included. It has a nice set of pockets for brushes, etc, and a mesh side pocket for other items. Quite functional and well designed. However, the big red plasic heart came a bit scratched already; I'm not sure if it got scratched in transit or what.
For the price, I'm tempted to get a second pouch, but I don't really need more than one pouch in this very girly heart pattern.
Biteki has a Roberto pouch and some Est samples included; I'm tempted to pick it up too. However, I wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the Roberto passport case, and I've bought a lot of magazines this month, so I'm thinking it over.

BAPE kids mook is out
The BAPE kids by A Bathing Ape magazine book (mook) is out now. A bit pricy at 1800 yen, it comes with a square boston bag in a colorful nylon material. Quite a nice large size, with long handles and a zipper on top, I am rather happy with it. If the nylon holds up to regular usage, it's quite a reasonable price, considering that a tshirt from BAPE kids cost 4000+ yen.
The fabric is a bit rough, but seems sturdy. The mook is quite nice; they've packaged it so that the gift bag is separate from the mook (rather a catalog really) so you can keep the mook itself around and throw away the cardboard packaging that protects the gift. I actually plan on giving the mook to some friends as I think they'll be amused by the pictures of the fashionable families pictured. The kids are absolutely adorable too.

Tsumori Chisato lunch bag tote in Jille
Jille magazine has a lunch bag tote from Tsumori Chisato in a very cute print. The tote itself is a slippery plastic one, not particularly high quality, but seems functional and easy to clean. The print is terribly cute though.
